Inflation is not 3%, raising a lot of your fees by 3% is arguably 50% to 90% higher than the current rate of inflation. You rate increases are driving inflation higher, government should be more responsible and not a source of inflation.

BIG PICTURE: There are so many Permit Fees increasing, it's becoming prohibitive for a contractor to build affordable housing in Gravenhurst. There is a shortage of affordable housing here now. All these fees and increases will make housing even more expensive and unaffordable.

I feel that here should be a permit with accompanying fee for the discharge of fireworks. Limits to the number of permits in a specific area and restrictions on dates. Failure to obtain these permits should include a fine a be subject to the same charges as fires without permits

I knew they would raise the amount of short term rentals fees. I am a cottage owner who rents only two times a year to offset some expenses. This will hurt. Don’t raise str fees. Trying to hold on to our place. Property taxes and all expenses just keep going up.

I would like to address the Short Term Rental fees. I am a senior who rents out her primary residence during the summer months. I feel there should be a lesser fee for people who are renting their primary residence. Most of the summer renters are only looking for 2 weeks maximum so we do not fall under the 28 day exemption

Re: Short Term Rental License increase from $ 750 to $ 800: $50 is a 7% increase!! With that price, a 'STR LICENSE RENEWAL' should be offered at a significantly reduced fee.

July inflation just came in at 1.7% down from 1.9% in June. The running average for 2025 is less than 2%. No need to increase fees and charges by 3%.

The inflation rate is currently less than 2% (1.9% June 2025), yet you are using an inflation rate of 3% for 2026. What is the reasoning behind imposing an increase in fees and charges greater than the inflation rate?

Curious how you came to a 3%inflation when the latest Canadian inflation data indicates a 1.9% year-over-year increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for June 2025. This is a slight increase from the 1.7% increase seen in May. The Bank of Canada's target inflation rate is 2%. How can you charge a higher than National inflation rate???

It is time to drag Gravenhurst into the 21st century. We should be given a choice to have our Tax, sewer and water invoices sent to us paperless. It saves money and can be received wherever we are, like south for the winter .

Inflation fees are ok. Fee structure must not interfere with events coming to Gravenhurst. I understand Boat Races will not come back to the town as the town is too difficult to deal with. This should not be Gravenhurst should be doing equal or better when dealing with groups wanting to use our facilities. Any event coming to the area is good advertising for the town.
