Consultation has concluded

Project update

On May 16, 2023, consultants presented options to council for consideration.

Following an extensive consultation period, officials have determined that a third-party contracted service, providing an urban “flex” route and a rural on-demand service, would be best for the community.

The service, which would be phased in, was identified as “most preferred” during a related survey.

This project will:

  • Assess the current context of Gravenhurst to facilitate a transit system
  • Identify travel demand needs of the community and provide a review of peer transit agencies
  • Develop conceptual transit service design options

    Take Gravenhurst's Transit Survey!

    The Corporation of the Town of Gravenhurst is undergoing a project to assess the feasibility of new public transportation within the community and would like your feedback. This survey aims to understand the community’s transit needs, the vision for transit in the community, and assess preliminary concept designs.

    The survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete, and it will be open until February 13. All provided information will remain confidential.

    In addition to the survey, there are in-person opportunities to have your voice heard on future transit in the community. There will be two in-person events in Gravenhurst on February 1, 2023:

    • pop-up consultation at the Library from 12-2pm
    • presentation and workshop at the Opera House from 5-7pm

    Both these events are open to the public and we encourage you to come and participate.
